Heart surgery is a major operation and it is natural for patients and their families to want to know more about risks and rates of survival. To provide you with this information, we run a website in partnership with the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery in Great Britain and Ireland.
Developed in collaboration with patients and surgeons, the site shows annual survival rates at specialist heart surgery units throughout the UK. It also explains different types of heart operations, along with information on the personal factors that influence the likelihood of surviving surgery.
