How we do our assessments
We use a variety of methods to make our assessments including analysis of data, self-declaration from trusts and our inspections. These results give an indication of the quality of service but do not necessarily cover all areas and may not reflect the experience of all patients.
What we assess depends on the work of the types of trust we are looking at. For example, we don't assess ambulance trusts on giving patients a choice of food.
