Based on our assessment for 2007/08, Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provided an excellent quality of service to patients, having made improvements compared with the previous two years. This trust has gained foundation status during 2007/08. Foundation trusts are assessed in a different way to other trusts. It has been good at managing its finances.

The trust was not one of those chosen to receive an inspection over the summer.
